  We ate at our local Applebee's tonight and had a great meal. The service was as expected and the price was hard to beat. Food came out hot and on time, and each of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. However, the entrance to the parking lot has somewhat of an engineering flaw. The owners have placed a large boulder at the end of the entrance landscaping in a *failed* effort to prevent customers from driving over the curb (staff told us people drive into the rock on a weekly basis, sometimes pushing it into the parking lot). During the winter season, snow accumulates in the area surrounding the rock, and it becomes difficult to discern where the curb meets the road. Our vehicle accidentally scraped the rock and detached the trim on the passenger's side. When we went to retrieve the detached moulding, we noticed we were one of many who have encountered this problem (see pictures). We spoke with Pat Hirsch, the general manager, and he showed genuine empathy and understanding, but explained that the boulder would remain in its current spot to prevent further damage to the curb (according to Mr. Hirsch they've had to reconstruct the curb in the past). We understand that this is an engineering flaw that may be difficult to fix, but it left a bad taste in our mouth after what would have been an awesome dinner. Be careful when pulling into this restaurant.

  This Applebee's is awesome. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting for family and friends. The servers as well as the managers are very friendly and make you feel welcome. The food was excellent and cooked as ordering. I highly recommend this Applebee's to everyone.
